Consultations

Typically, a first consultation would take the form of an assessment of your needs. An estimation of the length of time and the program to be followed will be discussed with you. Follow-up consultations usually take place on a weekly basis.

Duration

Each consultation lasts 55 minutes. Where appropriate, this will be extended in consultation with the client.

Therapy information

The type of therapy delivered is dependent on the client’s needs at the time of the consultation. If a client has just been hijacked, he/she will probably receive trauma counselling, whilst a person wanting to stop smoking may benefit from hypnotherapy. These are just two examples of many different forms of intervention and you are welcome to ask your therapist about his/her approach.

Fees

In general I charge medical aid rates but I am contracted out. Fees are payable in cash at the time of consultation. I will issue you with an account and a receipt which you may forward to your medical aid.

Please note that I may be willing to travel to nearby areas in appropriate circumstances and subject to a charge for the time and cost of travelling, especially in cases where clients are unable to move around easily as a result of serious illness. Please enquire if you think this may be necessary and I will be happy to give you an estimate of costs. You will have to bear in mind that your medical aid scheme is unlikely to cover such a cost.
